Larkspur oboist pursues her dream of spreading love for music
"MORE THAN a dozen youngsters in San Rafael's Latino community are learning about the joys of music, thanks to a Larkspur woman with a dream.
"Jane Kramer, 52, an oboist with the American Philharmonic/Sonoma, is teaching fourth- and fifth-graders how to play, listen to and appreciate classical music in a Pickleweed Park Community Center classroom..."

Thank you to Supervisor Steve Kinseys office for their generous support to start an ELM scholarship fund for private lessons and instruments for talented ELM students. Our first recepient, Daniela Chacon, will receive a piano and private piano lessons.

ELM ELM is sponsoring a live concert and music workshops at Pickleweed Park Community Center in February, 2010.

Four Seasons Fundraiser was a huge success. We raised over $12,000 to go towards scholarships for instruments and lessons.
Upcoming concert ELM Saturday program will conclude with a with a free concert of singing, Orff instruments and recorder on November 14th at 11:00 AM at Pickleweed Park Community Center 50 Canal Street, San Rafael. For those who attended the Four Seasons benefit, Ulises Alvarado, age 10 - will repeat his winning performance of Cielito Lindo!

NEW Saturday Class: ELM Saturday program will start on September 26 with a concert on November 14th at Pickleweed. Check back for further details. Call: (415) 847-8540 for more details. Lichi Fuentes will lead the chorus and guitar class. Nzingah Smith will teach Orff instruments.

NEW: ELM summer camp August 3-7 will feature Mika Scott teaching percussion and Brian Rice teaching instrument making. The concert will be August 7th at 11:00 AM followed by a potluck lunch reception at Pickleweed Park Community Center.

NEW GRANT: ELM has just received a generous award from the Orchard House Foundation.
NEW: ELM 3rd grade students performed a year-end concert at Pickleweed Park Community Center.

NEW: ELM is a proud partner to San Pedro Elementary School's Healthy Start Collaborative
NEW: ELM is consulting to San Rafael's Heads-Up Foundation on their initiative to provide a music teacher for every 4th and 5th grader in the seven elementary schools in the district.

We are pleased to announce our recent support from Marin County Supervisor Steve Kinseys office to start a scholarship fund for instruments and music lessons for talented ELM students.
Thanks to a wonderful benefit for ELM held at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco, hosted by Dr. Saul and Gloria Feldman, ELM raised over $13,000. Highlights from the event, with photos are forthcoming.
